Precious Gifts
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Today being mother's day, I'd like to talk about the gifts we can give, and why giving is so beautiful. In a true relationship, one should never go in thinking give-and-take as this expectation can lead to disappointment when the other person fails to return the favor back. Why put such unrealistic conditions on your happiness with the other person. Why not feel honored that you have a chance to render service to another human being? Someone who is brought into this world as a miraculous gift to some set of parents. Someone who is, or can be, the most precious gift as a friend. Someone who is seeking out a meaning in life in the same way you are. Why care if he/she is Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, agnostic, athiest, or otherwise? Is he/she not your brother/sister at heart? We all go through this life looking for a precious love, someone to show our affection to without inhibition. A love that will "go down in the record books". So why waste your life waiting for it? Even if the action is small, such as rendering some advice, if you invest it with love of your fellow brother/sister, then it can not fail to make a positive impression on that person's life. They may not acknowledge it right then, but on their deathbeds as they sit thinking back on life, you will come to mind for the loving care you invested in each interaction with that person. Think what wonders the world would achieve if those same people who commit suicide are given a healthy dose of love from every person they meet. Think what tragedies would have been stopped if the Stalin's, Hitler's, and Caeser's of the world had experienced love from every person they met. Would they have become so desperate for attention, or felt so downtrodden? Would they have acted out so violently if they knew they were loved? Ask yourself these questions and find your mother a gift that you take your time preparing. Invest every ounce of love into the giving of that gift. Watch the smiles bloom, and feel the sun shine with a new zeal.

First one in a long time
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

cool beans everyone, i've finally decided to post again... :P sorry for the delay between posts. here's a poem of my own making.

The courage of old campaigners, often waylaid by Misfortune
The sorrow of wiser heads than mine, who have often seen miserable destruction
The understanding of a true mentor, secretly easing the path for his disciple
Can never hope to surpass the love i hold for you, for in my quest to win your heart
These three citadels i must conquer, and in the sunlight of their surrender
My will could never waver, shown the way by the beacons of God,
No more will i fear failure.

Thanks for reading. It would be my great pleasure to see what you think about the poem and what it means to you. Hopefully, it causes you to find something within yourself, because it certainly came to me out of a very special place. as for the reference to God, no worries for athiests and agnostics, replace it with whatever physical term you have. It was meant as a simple reference to the unconcious mind, or Universal Intelligence, etc. Basically, the idea that there is a lot of order in this world. For you science geeks out there who believe the universe moves towards entropy, i'd kindly like to point out an important fact. the word cosmos, another way of saying the universe, means orderly arrangement... a hint referring perhaps to the timeless principles which guide the universe, the foundational ideas, such as the law of cause and effect. Anyways feel free to disagree.

Ciao!

Yesterday Night
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Yesterday night was really amazing because i met with my friend Aziz, who i'd not seen in 8 months. The whole time was quite fantastic, a lot of talk, and catch-up. But even more amazing was this guy i saw while i was going home. He had one of those cane like things that is grabs onto your arm to give you support for your leg. anyways, his ankle was in terrible shape, so that any time he took a step he looked like a circus contortionist. I bow down to that man, and all others of you who have disabilities, because you have immense courage to keep trying to have fun, and lead a "normal" life. You are great people!

Penny for your thoughts, Master
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

sweetness mixes with sorrow,
a friend's gay laughter,
blood litters the streets,
basking in your triumph,
the foe you beat

thru it all,
the Formless speaks,

the veil lifts,
you finally see,
the clean slate,
do you have the courage to simply be?

Connections
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

It comes to my attention that relationships, tried, tested, fluid, and undefined, are the everyday joys which we lean on to help get us through another tough day. I hope that Easter, and this season of spring bring to mind the feeling of giving for everyone. The best i can do for you is to reprint here some words that i sent to my friend over spring break, just as a token of our friendship. They dont necessarily mean anything, being a bit of fictional writing that doesn't really have a fictional work to fit in to. In all gratefulness, i must thank here J.R.R Tolkien for his "The Sillmarillion", which served as my inspiration.

Even in this failing day, when all Men forsake the difficult road, the road of victory, the road of glory, but mostly the road of duty and service, ever among the downtrodden and the poor, there are those who have the courage to toil away in hopes that they can erase the wrongs of a million men. These are the saviours of Men, why that seemingly is tolerated to exist. Forget not true valor, my friends, which lies in wait always for the one willing to toil without hope for the sake of his beloved companions.
